Ski The East Comes-A-Calling

Coming off a powderlicous President's week break, Magic is ready to get after it again with the Ski The East Freeride Tour heading to southern Vermont's steepest, most challenging ski area.

Magic received close to two feet over the Valentine's Day weekend storm and then another 10" on Tuesday and Wednesday last week for add-on powder days.

We were deep and steep.

Then we got together with our local community of skiers and riders ("the faithful") and had an all out ski-fest with our 15th annual Black Magic Extreme Challenge, Silent Auction Apres Ski Party, Torch Light Parade and Fireworks show, followed by plenty of shotskis, music and dancing.

Now we're ready to get after it again this week, with a Throwback Thursday before the Freeride Tour lands hard at Magic. And, there will be some hard landings!

The East's best skiers will take on one of the gnarliest trails in New England--Black Magic/Black Line. This trail features multiple cliff drops at 40+ degree pitches, open mogul section requiring continued endurance before taking the final dive for the finish area with a steep two-step ledge and jump option as your legs burn from lactic acid build-up. Start to finish is about a 1,000 foot vertical drop and competitors put it all on the line for cash, prizes, but most of all, the chance to be King and Queen of Southern Vermont Freeskiing.

And, it's all viewable right from the Black Chair Lift. So come on out and see the best, then hang with us afterwards at the Ski The East RETRO Party where NEON will be the color of choice at the Black Line Tavern! Check it all out right here and register for your shot at the title or simply the satisfaction that comes from taking on a challenge the likes of which only a few mountains in the East can provide.

A few discounted tickets are available for this weekend's fun right here online

We'll see you on "the road less traveled".
